Why would they attack their own people?

Last fifty years has seen Commie China use its influence to take Taiwans seat on the UN and marginalize it around the world.

The only countries that recognize Taiwan are largely greenmailed micro nations. Belize, Guatemala, Haiti, Holy See, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay, St Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Eswatini and Tuvalu.

The Chinese play is to isolate Taiwan like the old apartheid South Africa. Eventually the plan says its own people will be sick of the marginalization and run for the commie tit.

They were never attacking Taiwan. The military talk is overt pressure to get the Taiwanese to bow to the inevitable and cut a Hong Kong or Macao style deal.

Famous last words. Impressive optimism though.

They're too busy buying oil and propping up their own economy.

Probably not wise to bite the hand that's willing to pay you. Gloves off if Orange Man comes back...that revenue opportunity disappears.

China doesn't need to attack anyone. They've been quietly purchasing the entire planet for decades. They provide women for their men. They have an extreme focus building a better society.

Eventually Taiwan will beg to be a part of the monolith. The west is in complete freefall with no moral or cultural sphere to rally around or guide it. It's only a matter of time.

Why would China attack itself while itself is making billions for China?

There is a lot of money made between China and Taiwan because of loopholes from countries that ban trade with China.

But it is still in talks it will happen.
