It's not too bad if you find the right deal. I bought a crate full of Federal practice FMJ that worked out to ~$.36/rd. Self denfense ammo is always going to be expensive regardless of caliber. I've got a 40S&W barrel for that pistol as well and it runs great with that.

All said and done though, I do usually grab a 9mm or .45 to carry.

Correct. Only state-appointed/approved prosecutors are allowed to represent the state. If you wish, you can file a lawsuit against that person. That is a civil matter; only the DA can file a criminal case.

Mainly what people mean by "pressing charges" is reporting someone to the police and stating their desire that the DA follow up by filing a criminal case and prosecuting them. The DA is free to ignore that desire or request, although pressure from the public or politicals can influence their actions.

My neighbor had a dog that wouldn't stop barking. 3, 4, 5 hours+ it would bark at my family each day. I got a loud whistle and blew it until the dog stopped. Sure enough, it stopped real quick. Yes.
