It's like surfing.
If you standing on the beach, and you look out at the ocean and see a big wave coming in?
You're already too late.
You're in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong equipment.
You can try your best to catch up (and there's really no reason why you shouldn't once you realize the situation).
But just be mentally prepared that almost no amount of effort is going to change that you are behind.
