I was given a set like that. Thought it would be neat if i sharpen those blades.
And as a machinist, let me tell you those "swords" are made of the lowest quality metal i have come across in my career. I started on a sanding belt, and it was almost like small pieces of metal where being ripped from the blade.

I've seen that type of metal in Turkey. Shit is amazing in that it actually holds a shape, any shape. At least it makes for cheap trinkets to send back home. For whatever reason women love it, maybe because it's so shittily made.

man that fat QVC sword / knife's guy voice is so cemented in my mind it is unreal.

I used to catch that guys late night QVC show (as a kid obsessed with ninja turtles, throwing stars, and karate movies) and that man was like a coke dealer to me, I knew there was no way my parents would ever buy me a dangerous weapon but I used to think how cool it would be to have all those swords and knives...

Then around 10 years old I figured out it was all fake junk. Fast forward a decade and "mall ninja's" were everywhere apparently a lot of retarded (always overweight) adults weren't as smart as me at 10 and thought that $150 dollar mall ninja sword was a smart investment for home defense.
