I saw a similar video going around a few weeks ago and laughed. I find it hilarious they are pissing off the teachers to the point of crying. Millenials revenge. Love it. The schools wanted to be the parents and they can't handle.
My wife has a friend studying education so she can become a teacher. She is, as far as I'm concerned, functionally fucking illiterate. It's obvious she hasn't read a book for pleasure in her life, everything is spelt phonetically.
I read a note she'd scribbled - as opposed to spell checked - and it was embarrassing. "Acktually" "profeshunul" shit like that.
And when I was a retail manager going through trade school three quarters of the young people that worked with or for me were the same. The decline in English standards is in direct correlation to reading, principally reading for pleasure.
Nobody fucking reads anymore, even me. Thankfully I have the foundation of knowledge, but if you don't make your own kids read they won't fucking do it. Between spell checks and schools accepting video and audio sources in assignment work, you can literally end up teaching people's children professionally when you can't read and write properly yourself.

I keep seeing this rhetoric. My 5 year old Gen A can read adequately and is learning writing (a bit slower).
I wonder how much of this is that white children are getting rarer so all the mixed race, blacks and browns taking over is making the whole generation stupid (how can you learn when the class is mostly a pack of apes dancing on tables?) and how much is it apathetic parents who assuming ALL learning of any kind needs to come from teachers?
