Ok, so let me set this up a little. When Europeans first started settling in North America the tribes they came across were mostly nomadic and living in structures made of wood, mud, and animal hides. But when they first started conquering central and south American those were empires of "people" that lived in permanent settlements with buildings made of worked stone. Supposedly, America was first colonized by either a land bridge across the Bering Straight, or by ancient seafarers that hugged the coast in primitive canoes.
Here's the question: If these continents were settled from North to South shouldn't we see more advanced architecture and metalworks the further north you go? Before someone brings up climate, I encourage you to look into the primitive tribes of South Florida. They lived in chikki huts and were still largely hunter gatherers. Why did the Aztec have more advanced architecture, art, agriculture, and metalworks?
Maybe I'm retarded, but I just can't wrap my head around all this.
Almost all of the great cities and pyramids in the Americas have the same story attached to them - The Conquistadors and missionaries arrived and asked, "How did you build that?" And the answers were always the same. "We have no idea. That was here before us. It was abandoned when we found it. We just moved in."
When the Europeans arrived, the people living in the Americas were still in the stone age, and hadn't even invented the wheel. Seriously. They hadn't even invented the wheel.
What happened to the people who built massive stone walls in Peru, or the pyramids of Central America, is a mystery.
Native Americans were slaughtering each other at for generations before Europeans landed. They basically walked into Berlin 1945 when it was nothing but stragglers.
The helpful indians full of love and peace is just as full of shit as jews not being childfuckers.
The timeline only makes sense with the solutrian hypotheses, tools and carvings found support some contact with europe. Also the welsh landed in canada around the year 1060 or so. The settlement they made is called l'aux meadows or something. Here's all the info you need on the later welsh and viking landings after the ice bridge had melted.
Remember they didn't have phones back then. When a boat made it to america they couldn't save up enough food to travel back to Europe so they had to stay. There's landmarks over America that have welsh or celtic symbols and can't be attributed to asiatic tribes. For example the cactus hill archeological site is 20,000 years old but the asian migration to america happened like 15,000 years ago. Europeans were there first but in small number. To sum it up. People went to america over the sea ice 20,000 years ago from Europe, then again in year 1000 with boats.
You're not retarded. There were two migrations from Asia to North America and South America. The North American migration did come across the land bridge when the Bering Strait was frozen over. The South American migration came across the South Pacific by island hopping Southeast Asians and Polynesians who were very adept in sea navigation. It's why North American and South and Central Americans are so dissimilar in appearance, and the South and Central American Indians tend to look Asian.
This is what is called diffusionism, a theory on how the Americas were populated that competed in the 19th century with the now prevailing theory, isolationism, where it's believed that no one other than the people from Siberia populated the Americas, and no other contact with the continent was made until the Vikings made landfall in Canada.
There is an enormous body of evidence to show that isolationism is wrong. It's a theory that was favored by the Smithsonian Institute, and they destroyed tons of artifacts to maintain that viewpoint.
Alternate theories abound, some say the Scottish made it to Washington State, but the "natives" won't allow the oldest skulls with a rounded palates to be studied. Another is the Polynesians landed in South America, instead of eskimos walking down. Yet another says the Phoenicians made it to Brazil, and had settlements there.

The mistake you are making is assuming time = technological advancement.
Intelligence is a factor, but not even the biggest factor. Necessity is the mother of invention. Culture also has momentum. People will keep doing what their parents taught them unless there is some force that forces them to change.
Traveling into a new territory which is significantly different forces you to reevaluate the way you do things and that can be the start of a culture that is more amenable to new ideas.

There’s some alternate theories as other have posted. One I read recently in a book called the shepherd of men written back in 1910 mentions how Atlantis once existed between North America and Europe. Atlantis sunk below the ocean but some inhabitants migrated to North America and eventually down to Gulf of Mexico. From there they migrated to Babylon, Chaldea, Egypt, by boat. It could be a fake and gay story but it’s a theory

No. That's theosophy, the most poisonous vat of bullshit ever invented. It's genocidal in intent and particularly genocidal to Natives first. It's the religion of L Ron Hubbard, Charlie Manson and Jim Jones. It was tested out by creating the crazy Native killing Mormons first.
they came from canada and mexico and were squatters with no government and they kilt and eat each other and kidnapped each other. They were nothing like (((tv))) makes them like being smart, great trackers and hunters, etc etc. They were dumb af violent savages
The topic you are interested in is actually "Starforts", and I suggest diving into some of youtuber DUTCHSINCE content. I am partially convinced there were plenty of ancient cities, older than south america, in the north. There is evidence of large constructions in california, st louis, and new york that predate what we call the native americans.
Like DoughGoy and Not_C wrote, the "natives" moved in without building anything. They were just occupying the structures. As soon as europeans started building their own structures, towns and cities, the "natives" moved out of the ancient buildings and moved in to new buildings. "disappearance of mayans" solved. Logic. The reason why everyone is still theorizing about "disappearance" is because that means europeans are better at everything. Can't have that.
I can't answer your specific question (those who can may raise their hand). But what I do know is that you have to be careful with history. 'Historians' who do everything they can to wring the past into a Procrustean bed, adapted to current norms and values
