what do you guys do as a career? I assume everyone here is in the trades? got any advice for whos completely lost in life

Trades are a good way to go. Some are quick to pickup and easy to do as self-employed as soon as you get some experience. Just ask yourself if it's something you'd enjoy doing 10 years down the line.

If you get a basic indoor trade, on average plumbers usually make the most.
But outdoor rough trades like excavating or concrete or managing small medium Reno type jobs can make quite a bit.

Try and buy an asset. Like a condo, or split. Rent it out. Don't borrow from the bank.

I still think if I'd come somewhere with not much, I'd start to make a pet furniture... you don't need much material, but if looks nice, can be sold for high value.
