Woke Flashbacks. Thirteen years ago Canadian radio regulators banned the original version of "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits from broadcast for its use of the word faggot in the lyrics.

The original version refers to pop stars being faggots. The verse in particular is where a New York delivery worker says -

The little faggot with the earring and the makeup.
Yeah buddy, that's his own hair.
The little faggot owns his own jet airplane.
The little faggot is a millionaire.

I dimly remember this, but it is hard to believe it has been thirteen years already. Our Canadian cousins are at the cutting edge of social engineering it seems.

It is a great 1980s song by the way. Mark Knopfler is so good with a guitar he never could have been black. He wasn't setting fire to his instruments at the end of gigs because that would be retarded for a start.

Fun fact: Mark Knopfler is actually gay, so doesn't he get the f-word pass? Are they silencing gay voices?
