You thought airplanes were getting dangerous before. Planes falling out of the air anyway, might as well let troons and schizos fly.

Alaskan Airlines already went full fucking retard. https://files.catbox.moe/2tj6po.mp4

Word to the Wise: Don't fly!

I haven't flown since the TSA was created. Fuck them.

This is both outrageous and not surprising at all. Par for the course today.

But here's the rub of all this...

There literally should be this sort of push to get super smart guys in industries like this.

I have a particularly high IQ. I don't think it makes me better than anyone. In fact, if you have a high IQ and you're lazy, then go fuck yourself. You don't deserve anything just for having a high IQ.

BUT...if you have a high IQ and are willing to work hard, then yes, you should be able to apply that and have success in your life.

So here's the thing I've wondered for years. I was IQ tested at a very early age and my parents were told they could send me to a Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program. They decided not to, and I respect that decision. I agree with it actually. They wanted me to be a "normal kid" and all that.

There's a lot to unpack about my life and how I got to where I am now, a low end factory worker who finds himself going back to college for a difficult engineering technician degree and the faculty actually ask me how I got steered to the worthless 4 year degree I got 15 years ago, but I've always wondered one thing...

If our society actually has these GATE programs, where they single out the "super smart kids" and put them in special programs...then where are those kids right now? Where are the GATE kids?

It seems more like they singled them out and rounded them up, because we have anything but an intelligent world right now. It actually seems more like we have a world utterly devoid of those kids. And now "they" are actively trying to hire more retarded people?

I swear, if we somehow manage to not be destroyed as a society...historians of the future will look back at now and struggle to understand ANY OF IT. None of this makes any fucking sense. Not only dose it not make sense that this is, and has been, going on, but it MAKES EVEN LESS SENSE that this effort hasn't been stopped.

How did the adults let clown world go this far? The fact that the largest percentage of male suicides is the oldest group of people makes a very morbid kind of sense, but the fact that 25-44 year old males make up the second highest percentage makes even more sense because of stories like this.

There's no need to round them up when you can just do the social eqivalent of Chinese water torture on them. A lot of the smart people get filtered out through typical social processes. Can you not help looking brighter than your manager? Enjoy never advancing. Do you hold a well thought out but unconventional belief? Better learn to stuff that down, and then go slightly nuts censoring yourself. Prefer to talk about physics or God than sports and TV? Good luck networking. A lot of these people end up just accepting that the world is retarded and keeping their head down. A good portion of the most brilliant ones also self-delete in one way or another.

98th percentile. I exited society.

[ - ] Centaurus 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 15, 2024 21:43:05 ago (+0/-0)

Funny as it sounds, I just happen to be looking down from the 99th percentile when I saw you leave.

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 16, 2024 15:03:28 ago (+1/-0)

Just missed it, but decimal points have an inflated value in that region.

[ - ] PhantomXLII 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 15, 2024 11:20:34 ago (+1/-0)

Nailed it.

I tested high enough in Kindergarten on an IQ/Placement Test to be permanently put in Gifted and Talented. So I was.

I thought it was fun and kinda neat until about 6th grade, at which point I just stopped going. It got boring and I hated having homework because I was doing something else.

Got put in all the AP classes, all of that. College arrived, and past the first year of courses I never did very well. I studied, I worked hard, I did what I could but I could never "get it right".

Annnnd now I'm a real estate appraiser. It's a solitary job, analytical, and can't bend to what others think. Frankly, it's perfect for me. But lately I've been wondering if there's a way to make even more money either in this field or starting something up. I'm dying alone and in a non-White shithole, I would at least like to be rich and have nice things.

Hey, we had similar experiences with education. I've been a freelancer for the last decade, it's similarly solitary.

Someone told me to become an appraiser years ago and maybe I should have listened. Is it something you can farm out, like contracting? The work will change but eventually you can sit back a bit or work on something else.

[ - ] PhantomXLII 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 16, 2024 12:00:02 ago (+0/-0)

Eh... Not really. Most appraisers who are self-employed, which is most appraisers, do it all. Business side, reporting side, inspections, comp driving and pics, it's all you!

Sure, you can hire someone to fill out the assignment bit, or drive for comp pictures, but at the end of the day it's your name that goes on that report and if anything is wrong it's your license getting burned in front of you.

I have had the idea of forming a local AMC (Appraisal Management Company) though. A lot of appraisers don't like AMC's for one reason or another. Forming one that is local and gives a better deal to the appraiser which also handles the business side of things and gives benefits like health insurance and whatnot, I could see it working out. Y'all do the reporting, I'll handle acquiring work and doing the front end stuff.

It's just figuring out if that would be enticing enough for appraisers and if it would be profitable enough for me. The idea is to eventually be statewide and every appraiser signed up under me basically gets to work from home but also avoid self-employment tax and have benefits.

Idk. It's in the very very very early "idea on how to at least become somewhat wealthy before I fucking die" phase.

Normally though? It's all on you. You don't relax.

HOWEVAH!

There is a new universal form type coming out for URAR which I am realllly excited about. Flows better, looks cleaner, and it will actually adapt to what you put in as you go. No need to worry about picking the right form, it'll basically become the right form right in front of you. Really cool stuff.

If Isaac Newton was re-incarnated, he got addicted to porn and probably necked himself.

I've watched it happen to people. Scary to think how much potential gets wasted.

They also give high school kids personality tests, I imagine to determine if they would fit in at MIC type jobs. Does anybody else remember taking the personality test that had all of the cartoon pandas in it, administered by a branch of the military?

I suspect the reason why places like NASA suck so bad is that the really smart people who can "fit in" are pulled into the MIC. Anybody who, in the eyes of the MIC, is smart and legitimately a good person is subjected to a lifetime of purposeful derailment, like they did to uncle Ted.

[ - ] we_kill_creativity 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 14, 2024 22:30:09 ago (+1/-0)

Oh....I could write a lot about "personality tests"

Prey tell...what would you write about such tests?

[ - ] allAheadFull [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 15, 2024 00:00:50 ago (+0/-0)

Well it was a long time ago. What I remember is that they repeatedly asked the same question in different ways, which annoyed me at the time and tempted me to fudge the test. The only questions I remember anything about were about which types of activities you would be most interested in and which "panda" out of a group (doing different activities) you'd most like to be. I thought I remember the guy proctoring the test saying he was from the Navy.

Years later when I heard about ritual abuse and some of the kids having black eyes and being compared to pandas my autism alarm went off.

I've looked online for references to that test but I can't find any.

[ - ] TheGreatWar 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 15, 2024 15:20:21 ago (+0/-0)

Be careful with those types of tests. Each question often matches two metrics, and the you may be graded on the more subtle one while you think you're being consistent in your answers with the overt. For example: "I like scuba diving", "I want to be a scuba diver", "I like fast cars", "I want to be a race car driver". Each of these questions is two dimensional.
