I have some personal thoughts here, and it relates to me taking an unpopular position, without a doubt.

BOTH the Dad and the daughter are in the wrong. The Dad's probably a loser. While he may have raised a daughter who's mature enough to choose to get married, his daughter decided that she wanted to change how the entire "theater" of her marriage is portrayed to everyone else by excluding her father from a major piece of it. Her father, upset by this, threatened to call off the wedding essentially to get it put back in. In a lot of ways, this is angst between the father and daughter, and the daughter is getting the most consequences out of it, contrary to what most others might think. The goal and duty of any parent is to protect their kids when they're on the receiving end of consequences that they don't fully understand and, therefore, deserve. If the Dad thinks that he's going to fix a problem with a solution that involves leverage, he's an idiot who clearly never understood his daughter at all enough to know exactly what she would do given the choice. While every day or week there's certain little things that always have the risk of becoming bigger things if not addressed, this Dad let a minor choice by his daughter become a major impediment to their future ongoing relationship. I don't call that victory, I think that's failure.

Both the Dad and the daughter are going to get exactly what they deserve. Either the daughter is going to get the wedding the way that she wants, or she's not going to get married and she has a new reason to reject any real attempts at her father making an effort to be a part of her life going forwards. The real shame is both of them.
