The BND is a glorified co-op, not much different than a member owned power company or grocery store. The benefit and the problem with a cooperative is that it must be operated by honest, benevolent, empathetic people. That system works in places like North Dakota because of the culture. A co-op is true socialism, the exact opposite of communism or capitalism.
