Coping

submitted by retardedgenius to whatever 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 12:31:26 ago (+2/-1)     (whatever)

I recently experienced a series of traumatic incidents, back to back, or actually stacked one on top of the next, about 10 in a row. How did I cope throughout the entire years worth of truly teetering on the edge of insanity and never coming back?

I painted my car with bedliner. Mad max style. I went so hard. I sanded it myself I did it all myself. To fix a small indent I filled it with asphalt. You ca. Sand asphalt did you know that. It Sand beautifully, almost as beautifully as fiberglass resin which is by far the best shit ever made. It's amazing. Anyway, I've never painted a car before. It was very fun and it helped me cope. You should have seen me I was a train wreck and my car was always looking so crazy. But I was coping with things that almost tied my mind d in a knot. It is what it is. My car is bad ass. To me anyway. Just thought I'd share cuz it is pretty funny and I bet you haven't heard some shit like that before! I painted the car behind hobby lobby, Lowes, all over. Not I doors. Yup. Like that

If I ever had another vehicle, bedliner would definitely be my choice.

Back in '90 I painted my old backwoods Suzuki Samurai with bedliner/frame undercoat. It looked awesome and I never had to worry about it. I put that thing through hell and it took every bit of it. Bad ass little 4-wheelin' machine. Its actually quite popular for country boys to paint their vehicle with bedliner or frame undercoat since at least the 80's that I know of.

I used to paint all kinds of shit. I still do a little. Back in the late 80's/early 90's the department store started selling crackle paint and I went crazy with that shit, changing the background bas color made for some awesome stuff.

This said, my fav color is primer gray. I painted a '78 Ford F-150 with it and loved it. You can add some silver, black or dark maroon effects to primer gray and it pops.
