No. You’d have to know the administrative information for the network’s setup to be able to log in and alter its topology.

Pay for Internet access like whites do, kike.

OP is talking about the free hotspot things. They're a security nightmare to use of course.

Also, did you know wifi security is hilariously easy to crack?

[ - ] anon 7548832 2 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 12:40:47 ago (+2/-0)

easy to crack

Really? How would you go about cracking a WPA2 network that you don't have access to that has WPS disabled?

[ - ] anon 1596652 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 12:55:25 ago (+0/-0)

The average normie doesn't turn of broadcasting or turn on mac address filtering.

[ - ] anon 7548832 2 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 15:17:19 ago (+2/-0)

We weren't talking about the average normie. You said wifi security. Don't make false statements if that's not what you mean.

[ - ] anon 1596652 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 17:54:30 ago (+0/-0)

No false statement made at all. "Typical" wifi is easy to break into. I turned all that shit off when my comp sci buddy came over and wreaked havoc in my neighborhood. He snooped into all the wifi near my place and showed me some of the programs he uses.

I literally haven't used wifi since.

Lol so you have a friend that knows something and now you're talking like an expert.

I wish people without technical knowledge would stop giving technical advice, all it does is confuse people. You're not helping.

[ - ] anon 1596652 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 18:03:30 ago (+0/-0)*

OK cryptogenius. Nobody cares about your butthurtedness.

without technical knowledge

I have enough to know that I made correct statements. If you're saying wifi security is unhackable, you are not a very good security expert.

[ - ] anon 7548832 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 19:30:11 ago (+1/-0)*

wifi security is hilariously easy to crack

This was your bs claim that you couldn't back up. That doesn't mean I think all wifi is 100% bulletproof. Go back to w3schools and stop pretending to be smart.

[ - ] anon 1596652 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 19:40:53 ago (+0/-0)

I stand by what I wrote. If OP wanted free wifi, there'd for sure be someone within range of a dense housing system that he could aircrack-ng tool into for example. I have a word to leave you with.

What about OPEN WIFI HOTSPOT don't you understand? They aren't even using WEP. Learn to read, nigger.

[ - ] anon 3101486 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 11:46:42 ago (+0/-0)

Oh, and if you just use Kali Linux it has tools to capture packets sent to a WiFi node and once enough is collected cowpatty can use rainbow table methods to crack simple passphrases using a dictionary file.

[ - ] anon 7548832 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 13:41:58 ago (+0/-0)

Lol did you just google that from 2007? Old af and iirc doesn't work the same on modern wifi

[ - ] anon 2763968 [op] 2 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 10:22:01 ago (+2/-0)

There is no administrative information reuqired just a page that pops up that says click here to use internet. Also Pay your taxes goy

There is no administrative information reuqired

There is; you just know fuck all about the way these networks work.

Also Pay your taxes goy

No one said this, kike.

[ - ] anon 3101486 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 11:49:15 ago (+1/-0)

No, there is not, and YOU don't know fuck all about ANYTHING!

I literally had an uninterrupted Xfinity WiFi Hotspot connection that I didn't need to log into for years and all I needed was a valid Comcast modem MAC address that wasn't in use.

[ - ] anon 2763968 [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 17:41:42 ago (+0/-0)

Wait how cna I hack my neighbors WiFi? I'm not sure I have all the equipment to extended a public WiFi hotspot to my house

[ - ] anon 3101486 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 11:41:28 ago (+0/-0)

False. For 5 years until Comcast required a phone number or SSN to set up an account on Xfinity Wifi Hotspot I could do one of two things:

1.) Just spoof my MAC address every hour. You got 2 free 1 hour sessions every month, but it was only connected to a free account you set up with just an e-mail address that you didn't even need to verify. You just spoof a new MAC, go to the login page, mash your hands on the keyboard then type "@mail.com", and submit the signup form. There. Unlimited free 1 hour sessions.

2.) I found out that if you had a list of MAC addresses that were within the range of official first party Comcast home routers that were not in current use - which could be found by scouting trash on garbage night to find discarded routers from evictions (I initially did this looking for 500GB - 1TB hard drives because those were usually also TV recording devices) - that you could just use those MAC addresses and it completely bypassed the login page. I had about 20 of those I would cycle through and I could get free internet pretty much anywhere since Comcast put a second modem in each of their home service devices that broadcast the Xfinity Wifi Hotspot network in a second local network separated from the customer's home network (which the home user could turn off if they knew about it and how to do it through the UI - which most knew neither).

Very much true. Never use public wifi.

Lol no. You sound like a script kiddie.

There are some security considerations but you probably don't even know what they are.

How do they do it? What about TLS?

[ - ] anon 2219996 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 11:24:04 ago (+0/-0)

Vpn's are like condoms, they're not 100% effective unless whatever your traffic goes through is trusted too.

[ - ] anon 7548832 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 12:32:34 ago (+2/-1)

Ok, let's test your knowledge. Let's say you have a VPN that's rock solid and does everything right (well encrypted, no DNS leaks), and you use it to sign into voat at a cafe offering free wifi but run by a malicious user.

What can they get, and how?

[ - ] anon 2763968 [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 17:44:08 ago (+0/-0)

How do I hack the neighbors wifi

[ - ] anon 2219996 -1 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 13:00:59 ago (+0/-1)

If it's not your hardware, it's not your data. You assume encryption is perfect, it's not, and the public hardware moving your data has to carry your key. Public wifi's are notoriously made into honey traps to catch stuff like this since your average normie doesn't vpn anything. The only absolutely perfect way to secure your data on the internet is to not use the internet.

[ - ] anon 7548832 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 15:14:51 ago (+2/-1)

You failed the test. The question was "What can you get and how?"

The question you answered was "do normies have any bad security habits"

The reason you used misdirection was because you probably read about this stuff casually but don't actually know enough to do anything.

[ - ] anon 2219996 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 00:01:20 ago (+0/-0)

What are you trying to say? Knowing that perfect security doesn't exist is irrelevant to a discussion about a specific use case.

[ - ] anon 1596652 3 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 10:39:13 ago (+3/-0)

Yes! You can. Perhaps one of these will get you started.

https://invidious.slipfox.xyz/search?q=wifi+parabola+dish

I can confirm two dishes pointed right at each other (wifi antanea in the center) can go 3.5 miles if direct line of sight. You can make your parabaloid dish with wood and foil wrap for almost zero dollars.

For the wifi extender stuff, you can use any router that allows such modes. Try the Asus RTN10+ for example (and older one for sure).

[ - ] anon 3101486 2 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 11:53:43 ago (+2/-0)

I always look for the old Linksys WRT routers when doing this stuff because you can get them from thrift stores fairly frequently for $5, even the ones with the RP-TNC connectors which they stopped making after a while and YU antennas these days can be purchased off amazon even for like $60 and actually work.

[ - ] anon 1596652 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 18:02:24 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah, those routers will for sure work and are "hackable" in that you can make them repeaters in the router software (but also can flash open source software on them).

[ - ] anon 2763968 [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 17:43:47 ago (+0/-0)

This seems difficult af. Ffs

[ - ] anon 1596652 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 18:00:37 ago (+1/-0)

Well, the trick is to get the wifi ant. where the parabolic focal point is (this is how a flashlight works, as the light is placed in the right spot of the dish). Easiest way is to repurpose an old sat. TV dish and place the wifi ant. where the TV one was. The cheapest way is to make the dish out of wood and foil wrap.

Start with this one and message me back if you have trouble. Don't worry about too far range at first, just get the concept right. Don't worry about how in the video he goes into pinging and all that shit, but just take your wifi router and place it in the center of an old TV dish like he does. It'll work if you place the router in the sweet spot of the dish (rather than build your own dish).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZKc3PBs67c

Here is an example of what kind of dish to look for at garage sales or junk yards: https://gdrv4life.granddesignrv.com/sites/default/files/images/sat1_1.jpg

In the above photo, mount your router at the end of the arm in front of the dish.

I think you'd probably have to know their network setup information to set it up as a proper repeater, but if you are able to get a signal and connect to it as a client, you could set up a client to act as a router and set up your own wifi access point on the other side of it. One option might be, get like a Raspberry Pi and any off-the-shelf wifi router without a modem. Connect the Pi's wifi to the public wifi network, connect the ethernet to your own wifi router through the wifi router's wan port. You'd have to get some kind of software going on the Pi to handle the routing between the two networks. I'd probably install linux and use an iptables script but I think there are probably friendlier purpose-minded things these days.

[ - ] anon 3101486 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 11:51:24 ago (+1/-0)

DD-WRT supports both broadcast and connect on a single router

[ - ] anon 1494875 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 12:02:27 ago (+0/-0)

I thought there may be something out there that would do that but I wasn't sure they'd be able to contend with the captive portal page that makes you click through a web page to get connectivity.

Because some people click the "Anon is off" button below the "post comment" button and some people are retarded nigger faggots that think "Anon is on" protects them.

[ - ] anon 1596652 0 points 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 11:13:37 ago (+0/-0)

Thank you for explaining. Is there a setting to have this on all the time?

[ - ] ItsOk2bArian 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 9, 2024 11:37:14 ago (+1/-0)

It's a set it and forget it feature that is always on or always off. The OP decides if it will be an option when they originally create the post. That's why most posts don't have it and some do. OP checked the Anon box

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 1 point 1.3 yearsJan 10, 2024 18:12:38 ago (+1/-0)

Note that if you reply to a comment on the anonymous board from your notification page, it will ignore your setting and turn you anonymous for that comment again. Coming to the thread directly retains it.

DD-WRT/OpenWRT/Gargoyle/Tomato/FreshTomato etc firmware on whatever cheap router you can get from a thrift store, preferably with RP-TNC connectors for Yagi-Uda antennas.
