Fellow TechGoats, I'm sure you are aware that -- even if you choose to access it via NewPipe, invidio.us, etc -- YouTube is a pretty good quick reference for various tech topics. However I need to filter out the Poos.
1) Much of what they upload is low-quality and often incorrect. 2) I can't stand their stupid accent.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I could perhaps build a browser extension which removes their content based on filtering channel names etc but that's just not going to scale.
I've found this as well. No matter what you search, there is always non-white channels returned. Not sure there is a cure other than creating a youtube index for content creators.
During COVID I noticed a huge uptick in two things:
1) low-quality YT videos with Poo voice or AI voice
2) A huge increase in low-effort and clearly generated HOWTO sites. "How to install $package?" with the same content for every fucking package available on $your_favorite_linux_distro.
I feel like the future is not "connectedness" ... it's connection-only-via-discretion. Each person with their own 10s of private networks. Like that Google social network Circles thing from back in the day.
