I think I figured out how human memory works

You know how a geologist, for example, can tell which order a sequence of events happened with the earth based on differential weathering and erosion, then sediments covering up something, and so on? Well I think the human brain stores memories in a similar fashion and it specializes in decoding imprints left by photons and tiny electrical disturbances with nerves which leave imprints that we usually don't notice when examining objects (like women, because they're objects lol). And the recollections that come out of our brain pass through known people, places and things (things like women, the aforementioned objects) which is how these special arrangements of brain jelly mean things to us.

Thanks, I think.
I could have happily lived the rest of my life without knowing that.

And events, places, or people that evoked a strong emotion at the time.

yes, the emotion i would guess is an "annealing" effect when the memory is stored. episodic memories certainly take hold in their own way.
