This was on Reddit and tons of comments calling niggers out when you sort by controversial.

This is why anything besides direct charity is not a virtue in a mixed society. You will end up feeding parasites if you do not watch the outcome of your charity well. This is why you help the one. Find one person to help, verify that they need help, figure out what is actually helpful for them, follow up and see that it actually did help them, follow up with additional help if more is needed.

It sounds like extra work but now you are actually getting to the finish line, and you are doing less total charity per outcome obtained because you have fewer parasitic losses compared to just throwing shit into the world.

You might even be doing negative charity by doing it carelessly because you are creating a market for swindlers, both in terms of middle men and fake recipients. Then other well meaning people will have their money scooped up quickly by these swindlers, and will be out competed for attention by the fake recipients. If everyone was careful to avoid parasitic losses in charity to begin with these people wouldn't exist.

I'm not anti-charity at all. But the resources that go into vetting compared to actual money going out should be close to 1:1, but people do charity at 1:100. It's tempting to think that if you put $20 dollars of your time into vetting something and only give $20 that you've wasted your time and you could have given $40. But if you don't put $20 dollars of your time into it less than $20 will end up in the right hands.

All I'm saying is don't throw money around, but be ready to help someone at the drop of a hat.
