Look at what has happened to education as its become a political football. If it is important it is important that government not touch it. Marriage is another one.
Thank goodness we aren't having insane arguments over the water supply. There's no reason why we couldn't. If they argued to add MtF hormones to the water supply would you have the political capacity to stop them? You haven't been able to stop them on fluoride.

If you paid less in taxes and then used that money to select a school for your kid you wouldn't be dealing with this crap. But because people are irresponsible and apparently can't be trusted to do that we "need" public schools. Then the kids don't really get an education either way. You can't kick responsibility down the road, or what fills the vacuum won't do it anyway. You are directly responsible for your kids' education. You can pretend that responsibility doesn't exist, and you chose to be a worthless bum.
You know that job you go to and put effort into every day. Educating your kid is at the same level of daily responsibility. If you didn't show up to work today then you are just a bum who thinks a communist government should take care of your problems.
