i get the impression that women getting tattoos is to go through a "touching phase", which helps sexualize them. women are trying to be men and need a "cheat code" to be as comfortable with men as men are with women. and this can plainly be seen with how women will pretend they never went through a phase where they weren't comfortable with people touching them as much. there is a huge difference between a virgin woman and a tattooed woman, and this is the most likely reason women get tattoos.
I have also detected a pretentious attitude from people with lots of tattoos, especially anything resembling a sleeve. I've asked them if they like it when people ask about their tattoos and they always say "no, it's just for me", but when someone asks about their tattoos they can't stop talking about them. so what we have here is an unconscious ego problem. there is far, far too much egotistical behavior in the US and to heap this garbage on top of that is nuts.
every time I thought about getting a tattoo i didn't want it within days. i'd think about just getting a shirt with the picture on it, but then I didn't even want the shirt.
