Be careful about that crazy is sane and sane is crazy shit. The jews were spreading "who's to say what crazy is" intellectual throughout the 1960's, and then went to work dumping schizophrenics and delusional bipolars on the street under community care.

Now every sixteen year old believes with his mommy that the mentally get addicted to drugs and die from drugs, not him. He can get high because it's better than alcohol

Initial reception of the book versions was mixed. In the decades following, however, the stature of The Devil's Dictionary grew. It has been widely quoted, frequently translated, and often imitated, earning a global reputation. In the 1970s, The Devil's Dictionary was named as one of "The 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature" by the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration.[1] It has been called "howlingly funny",[2] and Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Zweig said in an interview that The Devil's Dictionary is "probably the most brilliant work of satire written in America. And maybe one of the greatest in all of world literature."

Mark Twain was an admirer of Bierce's body of work, not just his Dictionary, but his short stories and other writing as well.

One of my favorites from the Dictionary:

CAT, n. A soft, indestructible automaton provided by nature to be kicked when things go wrong in the domestic circle.

Nature doesn't dictate (expression by words)...it impresses sound through each instructed mind (instrument) within. Others distract one with suggested words such as insane (in sanus; within sound) person (per sonos; by sound) from discerning self.
