What will do it will be the weeks without power or access to basic supllies.

Was working for large(st) defense contractor. The first one to mandate it. Was making more money that I ever had previously, pinnacle of my career. They were the first to mandate after Biden said all fed employees / contractors needed to get it. I waited until the last day to show proof, hoping they would reverse course. Got the notice from HR that it was show or go. I left. Wife also refused it (but she was not mandated). I took a 50% pay cut, with longer hours to go to a job that didn't require it.

I used to think it was wishful thinking, but then I saw all my friends rushing to get a shot with the promise they wouldn’t have to wear a mask that they still had to wear with the promise of safe and effective. Only to learn it wasn’t effective and it definitely wasn’t safe.

That was my main reason I didn’t take it. I was concerned with the thought how could they come up with an antidote to something they couldn’t understand stand and hadn’t isolated so soon?

My wife lined up for it, I intervened. Got labeled a controlling asshole. Her body her decision. I said fuck no, my wife my life. (I’m not a controlling asshole, she does what she does. But I told her, I have been in the military my whole life, I’ve followed orders, but this shot is wrong. I refused it, she refused it.) And we lived happily ever after, so far!

I’m no hero, I was under some severe pressure to take the shot. I was a no show for two scheduled shots and cleverly rescheduled one. When I was threatened with no pay for the voluntary shot, I said no I do not volunteer. I accepted “no pay.” I still got paid. They legally couldn’t force me to take the shot. Most people didn’t know that. However, they made my life miserable.

Then you know what I am talking about. I’ve always been leery of submarines. I’ve done the departure at HNL over those black logs floating in Pearl. lol, I probably looked down on you thinking that’s got to suck, while you probably looked up at me and thought “that’s got to suck” brothers in arms

It was also fishy that a coronavirus is a cold virus, and we've never had a jab for a cold before.
