I often wonder what the founding fathers would think of modern America. Obvious assumption is that they'd be horrified at the size of the government and the way people so quickly give up their freedoms for "security". But, maybe their observations would be more complex.

The founding fathers of America would be both enthralled and dismayed at the progress of American people and the American government. While certain universal ideas would be common in every man, a deeper understanding of the government and the potential power that it has in overreach would be immediately noticed by the founding fathers for their intended removal from school curriculums. I don't even own a gun. Or really want one or even feel super comfortable using one, except for hunting. I do have access to some. However, I can't even imagine being so brain washed to think that we should give up this right.
