I want to die fuck this life. It usually goes for 3-4 days no sleep. Then day five I'll maybe get four hours of sleep or so. Shit is destroying my health

You don't need sleep anymore, you've evolved. Ride the whip son. Do some shit. Develop and hone the finest batman ptsd hypervigilant situational awareness of your world.

Back in the days of black market hooch - marajarina that is - a shipment of what must have been Afghan / Indus weed arrived on shore .. could have been the same stuff they call "Couchlock" in the US, in any case I slept 19 hrs per day for a full month thru January 2000.

Thus I would rise at about 4 am drink a little tea and maybe eat a little papaya & avocado mix .. then lighting up after the second cuppa I just had to crash, I would sleep four hrs then get up and stay up for about an hour housework etc then repeat the process .. a full month.

Get some certified Indus Afghani weed or ask for couchlock .. everyone I knew said the same thing just one puff and goodnite Irene .. Namvet friend of mine who had been sleeping rough under the stars came around .. one puff he went out like a light .. try it and see.

You're sleeping more than you realize. I'm not trying to downplay your suffering in the least. I've been there and it fucking bites ass big time! However most insomniacs don't realize most of the time they've fallen to sleep for ten, fifteen minutes. Not much solice I know but it will protect your health. Get to your doctor and get a sleep study. They're not just for fat fucks with sleep apnea.

[ - ] anon 3186309 [op] 0 points 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 11:52:13 ago (+0/-0)

Do general practioner doctors do sleep studies? Also I don't think I sleep more than I realize mainly because I'm tossing and turning all night out of frustration

[ - ] Outlaw_Aryan 0 points 4 monthsDec 30, 2023 09:25:33 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah I get that dude but you are and don't even realize because your mental state is so frazzled. No but a GP can refer you. These docs are everywhere because of all the fat fucks now.

Take food that contains the amino acid L-Tryptophan, as it is the sole precursor of serotonin. Serotonin is crucial in sleep modulation.

Milk, Turkey, cheese and peanuts might be a good start.

Also reduce screen time as the blue light changes your body clock. Maintain a schedule, exercise, avoid stimulants like caffeine and depressants like alcohol which make sleep quality worse.

[ - ] anon 2844091 0 points 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 16:03:39 ago (+0/-0)

The flow of serotonin will also create a more stable mood. A calm presence, if you will. Helping alleviate some of the endless, pointless mental chatter you are suffering.

Work or exercise until you're exhausted. Avoid stimulants. Drink a hot liquid before you lie down to sleep. As your body cools down, it makes you sleepier. If you're already tired af, this will add to the effect.

In addition to exhausting yourself, do all the usual things that promote sleep. Leave your phone and computer screens off in the evening. No coffee, tea, or alcohol in the afternoon/evening.

Are you having anxiety over something, or dwelling on some problem? Do a search on 'relaxation techniques'. One way is to lie down, relax with deep breathing, then progressively tense and relax muscles starting with your toes, then foot, calf, thigh, and etc all the way to your scalp. Inhale while tensing, exhale on relaxing. Should take around 20 minutes from toe to head.

Okay I workout and I should workout more consistently, its hard when no sleep. I take no stimulants, no caffeine. I'll have a caffeine free tea rarely in the afternoon/evening.yeah its probably anxiety or dwelling on some problem. For example, My mind races over every regret.I will try the relaxation tehcniue you suggested

[ - ] anon 3980176 0 points 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 12:05:25 ago (+0/-0)

Progressive muscle relaxation. In this relaxation technique, you focus on slowly tensing and then relaxing each muscle group.

This can help you focus on the difference between muscle tension and relaxation. You can become more aware of physical sensations.

In one method of progressive muscle relaxation, you start by tensing and relaxing the muscles in your toes and progressively working your way up to your neck and head. This is best done in a quiet area without interruptions. You can also start with your head and neck and work down to your toes. Tense your muscles for about five seconds and then relax for 30 seconds, and repeat.

Found the name of it, but they failed to include the breath part. Inhale as you tense and hold, then exhale as you relax that muscle group. You might think to yourself as you inhale and tense, "inhaling relaxation", then as you release and exhale, "exhaling all tension".

Focusing on those thoughts can enhance the effect, and displace/block those racing thoughts that prevent you from sleeping. Remember that as usual, it might take a little practice to master.

Stop all drugs/alcohol, including caffeine, sugar, tobacco.

Work out, at least an hour+. Don't be fat. Set a certain time and place for sleep, avoid naps. Only sleep then/there. Don't have lights, tv, etc before/during sleep time. Having your sleeping room cool/cold helps as well.

Eat meat, dairy, eggs, and some veggies. Avoid processed bullshit, sugar, HFCS, etc. Check your salt intake, you should aim for 100% DV and see how that does you.

Stop all booze and drugs if you use them. Take melatonin gummies. At least 5mg. Set a time to crash so you'll sleep for at least 4 hours. Expand nightly up to 8.

I worked overnights for 3 years and it was 1 trillion mother fuckers and then some to get back into a normal sleep routine.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 11:22:27 ago (+1/-0)

Take melatonin gummies. At least 5mg.

Careful, that shit isn't for everyone. Gives me massive headaches, makes others in my family sick.

[ - ] anon 2900122 1 point 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 09:35:16 ago (+1/-0)

Take 40 mg of melatonin and read a book. If you don't fall asleep within 2 hours, rinse and repeat.

Short term, chamomile tea, valerian root supplement and a calcium and magnesium tablet you should be able to get all that easily, they even make a good night time tea with valerian root, get some clean CBD too if it's legal where you are.

Stage two is to get online and order the supplements in the andrew huberman sleep protocol and start following his plan. Do some research on how and when to take what he recommends,

Do you have a pounding heart/elevated blood pressure when trying to sleep?

[ - ] anon 3186309 [op] 0 points 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 12:00:24 ago (+0/-0)

Nope no pounding heart or elevated blood pressure as far as I'm aware when trying to sleep

been struggling with insomnia since I was in my mid 20's. I remember when it started. I had just taken out a truck loan for a new bronco and the payments were high. I had a girlfriend who was pushing me to "keep up with the Jones" (get good job, finish degree, etc.), I was working full time, in school half time, working 2nd job, in the reserves ..just too many irons in the fire. One night doing a drill weekend up in Brunswick ME insomnia hit me and I didn't sleep for 4 nights. I tried everything: nytol, booze, etc. nothing worked. I told my landlord (the doctor) and he threw me a huge bag of valium. It WORKED and it was the only thing that worked. THis started a 25 year nightly habit of using benzo's for sleep and it took everything to drop that habit. The only thing I can suggest is 1.) stay away from benzo's (no matter how much they work) 2.) limit your stress and adopt the mantra of not letting things get to you. If you miss work the next day, so be it. You are your only guardian so take care of yourself.

I have found that GABA and full spectrum CBD oil, limited alcohol, plus the above strategy help

Try glycine supplement. Just be prepared for extremely vivid dreams.

[ - ] anon 3186309 [op] 0 points 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 11:54:45 ago (+0/-0)

Currently taking source naturals and its not doing a thing for me, I'll probably go back to pure encapsulations brand at least it worked maybe a fraction of the time. And yeah the dreams were lucid

[ - ] anon 7157763 1 point 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 02:39:55 ago (+1/-0)

When I can't sleep I force myself to focus on nothing but counting backwards from 100 while I visualize each number in my head. I usually don't make it past 80 before I'm asleep. That or drinking.

Take 2 niacins will knock you out

DO NOT DO THIS

Look up niacin flush, if you are sleep deprived already this will be a veritable hell on earth.

[ - ] anon 1770786 1 point 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 08:42:53 ago (+2/-1)*

op wont get your message for 10 hours because in a nice, deep sleep after having taken 2 niacins.

[ - ] anon 3186309 [op] 0 points 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 11:43:42 ago (+0/-0)

I take a vitamin b complex that has a niacin flush warning label on it. Usually in the mornings

[ - ] anon 1770786 1 point 4 monthsDec 26, 2023 13:43:10 ago (+1/-0)*

complexes are often light on the niacin b3. In the <100 range, Im guessing

Should change to time taking it to coincide with nightime and at least 500ml.

The flush, if you even get it, is just uncomfortable. Its not a big deal. what youre feeling is your capillaries expanding. But its something your body gets a tolerance for and flushing becomes a thing of the past (if you even get it and if you do it only lasts 15 mins, but it would be a good thing if you did because it tires you out and you'll sleep for 10 hours.)
