Christmas comes with a new upgoat feature

It's called muting.

Is someone posting too frequently for your taste or "forum sliding"? Don't want to block them because you enjoy calling them a shithead every now and then? Then muting is for you. It's basically a temporary block. Simply click the 3 dots on any thread and choose 1 of 3 options: 20 minutes, 1 day, or up to a week. This will clean you feed of shit while giving you the future opportunity to call them shit. Works great for spam, religious posts, and gabara. Basically it's intended to help filter stuff. Mainly I'm proud of how the drop down menu turned out. Other options like save and report have been added to this menu as well. Not too exciting but hopefully helpful. Plan to add the same options to comments soon.

Hope all is well with you goats. I know this past year was a bitch for a good portion of us. But We made it another year in clown world. That's something to be proud of. Merry Christmas you filthy animals!

dass...I've been gardening for years and I've been getting my soil mixture (organic mixture) all wrong. When I got it from the compost it was friable but after a few weeks in the broiling sun it compacted as hard as rock ffs! So now I mix the compost with hay (dried grass) and, bro, it works a treat in my tub (pot) garden. Potatoes like it and I'm getting the best cucumber plants ever. You see, dass. Previously the plants were susceptible to being waterlogged and...and their roots couldn't grow easily (soil too hard). As yet I haven't produced any cucumbers but it's looking good. Did...did you find that interesting? Oh!

I don't experience this. On all my devices it works properly. Sounds like a bug. Try changing your password. It will sign you out on all devices and clear your cookie id. Then sign in and click remember me.

Thank you for still making an effort with this place. I mean that genuinely. Something that I think existed on old Voat, and if it didn't I still think it's a good idea: you couldn't downvote more than you upvoted. I get even that can be abused, but I think the positives outweigh the negatives. The positives being that the idea was that this rule encouraged people to think before they downvoted, and encouraged them to upvote more often, which, one would think would help drive activity around here.

Another thing, and this might be even more important, but harder to do (idk) ... let the amount of comments on a post count in the algorithm that determines where posts are on the main feed. Also, simply the number of votes, not just the net upvotes. The idea being even a controversial post might be at net zero votes, but have a hundred comments, which means it's a good post even if a lot of people don't like it. Counting downvotes as "positive activity" in the algo would also discourage downvoting bridgades.

I appreciate this feature. My habit of posting multiple videos in a row is a problem for a lot of users and I think it would be best for them to be able to mute me.

A other thing that might be good qold be a place where you can queue up videos in a playlist so that people could watch the vids that I or other users want to share.

We could also add some features to this function to make it easier to find videos that were shared previously and either filter out certain users or search for specific users and the videos they shared.

I apologize for my obsession with certain subjects and my eagerness to share the stuff I found in my algorithm.
