@system, In the spirit of Christmas, I apologize to you for how I handled leaving VOAT.XYZ/TALK.LOL. That said, The incident that caused me to leave was not a trivial incident. I do wish in hindsight I would have handled it better.

I think you underestimate the impact and importance of Upgoat/VOAT. What you've built is a refuge for those of us tired of the culture war. We, by and large, are the people that nobody else wants. We don't think like them, we don't act like them, we didn't get the memo about turning our brains off and accepting what they tell us as fact. We just don't fit in anywhere else. You've given us a home and a sense of belonging and purpose. Small as you think this place to be, I would argue that it's just the right size. Comments like this matter to me, so thanks. The internet has changed so much since voat.co originally started. Getting a site like this up and running with an active userbase is nearly an impossible feat, so I am grateful to everyone who has come aboard and kept it alive for the nearly 3 years now. I really believe the world is a much better off when people have somewhere to scream FUCK _______! or whatever else is on their mind. The censorship going on today is a crime.

I know that I sort of switched gears in asking for my original ID back, but I want to be clear that I meant what I said about Upgoat/VOAT, and the value it adds to us, and how it, in my opinion, stands toe-to-toe with the larger/lower octane site Reddit. Damn near every user here wouldn't miss Reddit if it fell off the Internet, but, as demonstrated through the responses given to this post, that was meant to be humorous, this site would be missed if it went off for even a few minutes. Be proud of your efforts, and know that there is a whole community which appreciates your work and your efforts. Reddit should be envying Upgoat/VOAT. They wish they had the passion and intelligence that your users have.

Hope this isn't overkill, but wanted to remind you of the goldmine that you have, and that your vision and efforts have mattered.

Thanks @system, Any chance you could reactivate my old iSnark ID? I've had it since the bad old Putt days, and it really is the identity that everyone knows me by, plus I got to have the old VOAT skin, and the cred of having the badges I accumulated (Though I thought I might have been missing some), not to mention that the time accumulated on this ID (which I'm not in love with) make me look like a newbie...
