What I don't get is why they keep passing more laws to "protect children" to such a degree that running any website is a liability on your life if someone uploads the wrong thing, but they all seem to have these habits. You would think they would do something insane like legalize their own perversions. Yet age of consent laws slope upwards.

I guess if they legalized their own habits they couldn't be blackmailed. Their blackmailers wouldn't like that. Because their blackmailers control them that will never happen.
