That was one hell of a crack. Proving once again deer are 4 legged niggers.
I had something similar and almost as bad happen to me once.
I left my garden door open for thirty minutes accidently, and within that time a doe snuck in. I tried to shew it out of the door that it came in, but it just tried getting out everywhere else. Eventually if backed up and fully rammed a section of the fence, which knocked that section of fence down and nearly broke the doe's neck.
It stumbled around for about five minutes but eventually snapped out of it and fucked off.
