so far my rig is working flawlessly and its going in to year 4 next year and i'm planning to keep it longer than that. the only thing that it failed was my 3060 12gb graphics card that just bought this past july. fuckin chinese piece of crap. there's no reason why it failed on me since i dont play AAA western games.
now my trusty 1660ti is 3 years old and its still working like a champ ( thank god that i kept it and didnt throw it out to the garbage) i must say that its showing its age because it was getting 70-85 percent of utilization while playing esports games with my nephews at 120 fps
so what i did was i locked the fps to 60 and its now givinng me 35-45 percent of usage which i'm fine with it. with the 3060 at 120 hz or more it wasnt even breaking a sweat at 1080p lol
yeah i'm going to keep my 1660ti because it just works despite the lower vram. i know that this will only be an emulation and indie card in the near future and i'm okay with that. i cannot throw money at nvidia or msi since i'm struggling in this economy.
besides, i'm not finding much joy in gaming anymore. i'm getting bored playing them nowadays.
I've never had a component fail and the only people I know who have had components fail either installed them improperly or kept fucking with OC settings. I wouldn't recommend Nvidia cards in current market either. AMD cards are just as good for cheaper. The 1660ti is still a good card. As for your 3060 failing, you didn't mention the manufacturer. But in my experience working on my own rigs as well as doing tech support for others, the best manufacturers to go with these days are MSI and Gigabyte. Both of which are from Taiwan.
