The idea to count years from the birth of king fo the jews wasn't proposed until 525 of the Julian and now current revised Gregorian calendar.

The adoption of the Gregorian calendar wasn't widely accepted until the 1500s, in Switzerland in 1684, Nordic countries in the 1700s, Britain in 1750, and Greece didn't adopt it until 1923. LOL
