I think it's considered poor form to turn down a bribe. They probably don't call it that, but it someone offers you money to go their way, absent you being bribed by another guy, you have to go. Otherwise, they muscle around you. Guarantee they'll be backing your opposition.
This sounds like something the fbi should be doing all the time. Beyond bribes the fbi should be doing pedophile busting and prostitution busting. Any congressman or woman who commits a crime that any normal person would be fired for should be fired.
