I couldn't tell whether he was a storm chaser or fleeing it, or just in panic.

[ - ] Artificial_Intelligentile 2 points 4 monthsDec 11, 2023 20:43:10 ago (+2/-0)

i think he made the right choice to get out of the city where bullshit is flying around and hitting him like crazy, once he was out in the open, the wind alone posed no threat.

Damn, that is a dedicated storm chaser right there he flipped around and drove with the tornado

[ - ] Master_Foo 2 points 4 monthsDec 11, 2023 21:37:49 ago (+2/-0)

Dude would have been fine if he just kept going.
He turned around INTO the tornado.

It's a mystery why people live in places with tornadoes.

Half the world?

In the eastern half of the US, tornadoes are not uncommon, and particularly in the zone called Tornado Alley. Tornadoes are the Russian Roulette of natural disasters, and the cylinder never stops spinning.

Living in places where tornados happen, you are still pretty unlikely to even see one in person. When they do happen it is a condensed form of natural violence. Meaning that they aren't really that wide, and their track isn't usually all that long. While there is no warning, it has come and gone quickly. And, unless you are right along it's track, you're almost certainly ok. Many times they just tear up some farm fields

Compare that to hurricanes, and floods, and wildfires and earthquakes. All of those can destroy wide areas. A couple of them can take a week or more to happen or clean up.

Tornados are much easier to live around than all of that other shit.

I prefer earthquakes. Firstly, because in the US the only decent climate comes with them. Secondly, because a destructive earthquake only occurs once every hundred to 5000 years on a given fault line.

If tornadoes only occurred in specific locations once per century, and didn't damage well-built structures, they'd be on par with earthquakes.

heavy scene.

[ - ] Artificial_Intelligentile 1 point 4 monthsDec 11, 2023 20:41:16 ago (+1/-0)

the tornoado itself isnt really dangerous. its only so dangerous because theres so much bullshit flying around. thats why a clean and sturdily built neighbourhood is a an achievement that anyone should strive for.

niGGErs cant do that. expell them from the civilized world.

Oh my, I seen wind speed was 150mph, that's over 240 kmph, almost the fastest I ever drove... can hardly imagine what one should do if on road.
