Take it back, start thinking in terms of individual states and referring only to individual states unless the matter is federal explicitly.
Saying "USA" or "America" in that context robs you of the opportunity to say Montana or Oklahoma or such. If anything it should be something like "ASU" for American State Union, to remind people that it is a union and not a replacement country and identity.
