Bottom was up in Nor Cal, if I recall. Some Type II gig. It was time to leave at that moment. Usually the only time I thought to take pictures was when I realized I wasn't gonna have another chance.

Vail Lake was "The Eagle Fire." I wanted Incident Command that camp was gonna burn down and we had to move but... they didn't listen. That's a picture of the evacuation of base camp as it burned.

Above that was the Paradise Fire. Pretty sure it was still the largest in California history. At least... the most destructive.

yep in my 'burb (2019-2020). Ok not an inferno but it burnt 20+ houses down in my streets alone. Many others elsewhere.

Funny you can tell by looking, but I can't really say why you can recognize it in pictures and video.

Something about the color of the haze, maybe.
