I heard at some point NYC was taken over by bankers. I would've thought it was controlled by bankers before that. But anyways there may be something to this "comptroller". The banks hold the purse strings, is my understanding. The elected can't just arbitrarily spend money, unlike the Feds.

What did they expect? They installed a stupid creature. They should have known it would nigger everything up.

A teaching moment. Time to point out that the mayor ain't shit in Anytown, USA. It's the city comptroller or city manager. Who are unelected and selected from a short list for every major city in the country.
