Please teach me your magic. I tried yt-dlp (october release) but it did not get audio. I didn't expect the November release to fix the issue but maybe it is that simple.

Edit: Seems it's VLC that's not playing the audio. Firefox plays the audio of the file I fetched on my own just fine.

search "twitter video download", first link, you click download and it loads in another mp4 page, right click and save that, play with mpv or in browser. VLC sucks.

Those sites are garbage. yt-dlp does what those websites do with a lot less bullshit. Works with youtube, twitter, and most sites with embedded media. I was wondering if there was some flag I was missing to download it, but seems like it's a weird audio codec.

yt-dl got shut down via court order, but it's open source so lol. yt-dlp continues on.

you can also use JDownloader2, it will rip video from most sites including twitter. I just dl'd this no problem with audio.

Thanks. Unfortunately i get no sound on both of those. Believe twitter is doing something to separate sound from video as it only started a while back and then only with larger videos.

Strange. I double checked the local file I downloaded. VLC has no audio so I assumed I had an error with the download, but if I open my local file with firefox the audio plays.

I just clicked the above link and the audio plays so catbox didn't alter it.

I'm not sure why it only works in some players and not others.
