He was a little too zany for me, but I liked Joe’s Garage. After that, i think I like Jazz From Hell or Sheik Yerbouti.

I’m no rock fan, though. I need my nigger jams .

Overnight Sensation and Apostrophe are my favorites by far.

Shiek Yerbouti...."broken hearts are for assholes"..."Bobby Brown"...1,2,3,4 Im so cute, you're so ugly....ZAPPA was talented and was probably intellectually ahead of most musicians, and politicians for that matter

"intellectually ahead of most musicians". Sure, whatever you say. I thought "Dinah Moe Hum" was a very intellectually challenging set of lyrics, describing him banging a woman's sister and getting her to come.

He was a brilliant composer. He could compose an orchestra, play Jazz, do shitty raps and the rock songs that he crafted were very baroquely layered, it seems to me as a layman.

Every album he did was a mixture of incredible music and studio mixing with incredible vulgarity and filth. An album of his that I like, that represents that quality the most, is "The Man from Utopia".

My very first Zappa album was Zappa In New York around 1978, given to me by a cousin that didn't like it. I did, very much. So I went to our small town tiny record shop and the only other Zappa they had in stock was Bongo Fury. If you've never heard it, you really should. Joe's Garage is all about my music career, hits me pretty close to home. But they're all great. FZ has been a guiding force in my life ever since.

Joe's Garage was the best hole in the wall dive bar in fort worth, and I'll fight anyone who disagrees.

Went and saw him in Londaon in 1978. He wanted to make it a concert lbum, but the polite Brits would stay silent and listen despite his constant efforts to get the place loud nd raucous. After a few songs, he just pouted, then finished the show in despair. Sad to see but today seems funny knowing his background.

Only song I really liked was The Torture Never Stops.
