CBS’ ‘Late Show’ Off Air This Week After Stephen Colbert Suffers Ruptured Appendix - Upgoat

December 2019 (the 16th), I was having stomach pains after doing 30 minutes on my elliptical, after work. My wife was at her sisters, so just me and the dog at home. pain started getting worse and felt just like I was gearing up for a night with stomach flu. So I settled in on the couch and prepared for a long night of puking my guts out every 30 minutes or so. By midnight, I was turning over on the couch moaning in pain with the dog at my feet, and was thinking "this is weird. Usually with a stomach bug i'd be puking by now, not just rolling around in pain." The next morning, texted my wife and said, "something ain't right, I am doubled over in pain.. I am going to call in sick and maybe head to the emergency room.." She told me to keep her updated, was headed to work herself. 9:30 AM, I pull in to the hospital parking lot, head in, check in and wait. 20 minutes later a doctor take a look and says, "you probably have to take a shit", he gives me a suppository laxative and tells me to go to the bathroom and try to poop. 15 minutes later, nothing but plenty of pain. He lines up a CAT scan for me. I drink the contrast agent and lay in the CAT scan machine. another hour goes by, and the doc comes back in the room, says "we need to get you into surgery asap, your appendix is ruptured" BY now the contrast agent along with the contents of my intestines leeching into my abdominal cavity, causing peritonitis. Now I was taking care of my mother at the time and had actually picked her up in the same emergency room the day before, so I text my wife and updated her, let her know that she has to bring my mom supper later and check up on her (my mom was falling quite a bit). By now the pain was so extreme, no amount of morphine they gave could bring the pain down and I felt like death was coming unless they opened me up soon. That night I wake up from surgery, doc is there with my wife, they say they are going to wheel me to my room. My wife heads out to go to my moms place, and I am laying there staring at the ceiling, I look out the door and low and behold, they are wheeling my mom past the doorway to put her in the next room, she fell again. WTF. I text my wife and sister, ask them what happened they reply that my moms neighbor called emergency services because she called her, said she fell.

The next day I walk my iv tree into my moms room next door with my cell phone, have the nurse take a picture of me and my mom LOL, merry christmas.

The nurses that day were all talking about this killer flu that was in China, they were hoping that it didn't make it over here to the states (I was living in Massachusetts). They didn't call it covid 19, just vague and concerned, alarmed mentioning of an emerging disease. Time went on, fast forward to 2021, my mom was placed in assisted living and my wife and I moved to New Hampshire. I was forced out of my job for refusing the mRNA vaccine, have since landed another one (18 months ago), my mom gleefully took any shots they offered her. My mom died on St. Patricks day 2021, just ..stopped living. I feel in my gut that the whole covid 19 plandemic is nothing but a warm up, compared to what they have planned for us in the next couple of years. I will prepare the best I can, but I fear that everything will be so hopelessly broken (economy, supply chains, civil strife, new plandemic, failing medical and emergency systems, you name it), most people will not survive

Interesting! I only knew of children or adolescents getting appendix removed. Like I knew one girl who had a swollen or something appendix suddenly and they removed it. She was 11, normal diet minimal junk, 100% not sexual, just a child and very active not fat.
This was years ago, interestingly she said she never had constipation until after she turned 16 or something, so years after the appendix episode.

Of course, I don’t doubt colbert is a flaming homo.

appendicitis leads to ruptured appendix. this can happen for a variety of reasons, but the cause is blood flow gets cut off to the appendix, and it gets gangrene and bursts if left untreated. typically not a lifestyle thing whatsoever.

My half sister had a ruptured appendix. 6 months after the VAX. She was 70 years old. Appendix problems generally show up with younger people.

When blood flow gets cut off to the appendix, it can rupture. But to get there you have to endure a lot of pain. He took too long to seek medical help.

variety of possibilities including food blockage. the appendix is a vestigial thing that serves no useful purpose, but gets in the way of other stuff and can become gangrene and cause a lot of problems if not treated promptly. Source: my appendix nearly burst.
