no they're not. gaming laptops have been VERY GOOD for a LONG time. I'm using one right now with a 1650 and in i5 (and I have the amd ryzen 5 and 1650 equivalent laptop) and it runs the latest games with medium to high graphics and i've been using it for over 3 years. and this laptop is 5 or more years old (from it's initial release date).
you've been listening to retards that are replying to threads like this with dumbass comments that I can only explain by saying that they haven't even looked at gaming laptops in over in 6+ years.
My benchmark has been Photoshop. Picked up a laptop last year that runs well, not top of the line by any means. Large files still chug and rendering can be a little laggy.
Does the one you have allow for any sort of expansion? I didn't read close enough before I found out the one I have has no BIOS access and the RAM is part of the motherboard.
My stance is from the desktop build I have that's now a decade old. i7 (think its an 8120) with 32gb RAM and a 1TB SSD. Laptops with those specs may exist, might be outside of my acceptable spending window ($1,200 tops).
