Injuries to the external genitalia are present in around 70% of combat related GU injuries and up to 5% of all military traumas (14,56,57).

External genitals are not 5% of your body, but the injury rate is probably due to the location near center mass. Anti-personnel mines probably hit external genitalia at a very high rate.

If you scroll down in that article, a GORE label might be appropriate.
