Bible: Does 2 Ch 22:2 contradict 2 Kings 8:26?

"Forty and two= years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri." - 2 Chron 22:2 KJV

"Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel." - 2 Kings 8:26 KJV

Which was written first? How far apart in time were they written? How far apart in time were the author's? Was the later author even aware of the writings of the previous author at the time of his own writing?

Facts can be slippery things sometimes, and "eyewitness testimony" the most unreliable evidence of all. The simple fact is, most people's memories are notoriously bad.

Homer wrote the "Iliad" 700 years after the events he portrayed in it. Good story. Bad factual history.

I lean toward explanation 1 or 3. I'm not sure, the Spirit hasn't made that clear to me (yet)(I also haven't spent time meditating on that (yet)).
