Sauron is Saturn and Gollum is a golem of Prague reference (notice the same story ending as Star Wars and Terminator with the golem throwing the jew into the pit and then dying with him). As much as Tolkein claimed to hate allegory, he sure did put a lot of allegory into his work, and had to hide what he knew about the jew. Just like he pretended to be catholic while naming a bunch of characters after figures from Nordic Pagan texts but not naming anyone after any jew bible characters or saints.

Tolkein's work being claimed by Catholics always sat wrong with me. Sure, there is a main creator in his works but the rest is too detailed with multiple sub-deities and nature spirits.
