Always wondered about the whole train thing. It never made any economic sense from a strictly mass-murder perspective.

I mean, if you are a murderous evil Nazi genius, and you intend to kill them anyway, then why bother paying transportation costs to centralize them all first? It's a completely unnecessary expenditure of time, energy, manpower, and resources.

You don't need centralized "death factories" to make jews unalive. You can do that anywhere.

A bullet to the back of the head in Dusseldorf would cost less than shipping the same jew all the way across the country just to put a bullet in the back of the head there.

And digging a hole in Dussledorf would cost the same.
