Probably why they released this information out now.

A lot of these predators are being exposed simply by having their protections removed from them.

They are no longer useful to the system, which makes then a liability that cannot afford to be left free.

It's better to get the shady stuff they did out in the open and thus avoid a deeper inquest, than to have it be revealed by people willing to dig their way up the chain.
