OpenAI and Altman have bee fronts from the very beginning. Microsoft does not have to 'scavenge' anything because it already owns it all. They used a front for this because they were worried there would be a backlash against GPT because it has been trained on all of that sweet, sweet data that Microsoft has been slurping up from everyone on the planet since 2005. A massive amount of proprietary data was used in the training sets for GPT. There was a very real worry that owners of IP would sue and I think there is still a lot of undecided case law here. Think about it, if you ask GPT about the plot of a popular movie or book it can answer very intelligently. This means that the Large Language Model running GPT was trained on the content of that movie or book. It is a huge grey area in the law right now as to weather the resulting AI is a 'derivative work' covered by fair use law or if the resulting AI represents and unauthorized use in copyright law. OpenAI was a non-profit org for a huge reason: As long as there is no 'profit' fair use is much easier to argue in a court of law. But Microsoft thinks the legal danger is past mostly because 'everyone is doing it' so they got rid of the frontman because he is annoying

Sam Altman is a filthy kike Jew whose mother was a dermatologist. He is a college dropout that had zero AI/ML understanding and Jewed himself into the CEO position. You stupid Jew.

Good riddance as far as I'm concerned. One less propaganda bot in the world is always a good thing.
