I used to collect stamps as a kid. I was never really into it. It was more of my mom giving me something to do.

I did appreciate that it exposed me to cultures all over the world by way of the stamps commemorating landmark events or representations of local art, etc.

For some reason, none of the packages with stamps from across the world included any featuring the Führer. You'd figure Time's man of the year for 1938 would rate as an important historical character.

Yeah, I think it's pretty cool. I use to have a bunch of these, pops looted them off German soldiers. My shitbag brother ran off with them. I thought it was a really cool gift.

By "pops" I mean my grandpa, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Not proud of it, but it is what it is.

My grandfather, WW2 vet and POW was an avid stamp collector. I guess it was a thing back then.

"Collecting" is a doomed pastime because one day your precious items will probably be ...thrown out in the rubbish!
