Jokes on recruiters, I ghost them, go behind their back to the source then ghost the client and go with a competitor.

Both parties have a dog in that fight, I know because I've been on both sides. There is nothing worse than a shit company or a shit employee to drag a place down.

I mean, in my field you get more from a handshake than a signed piece of paper. If you are only applying to corporate shit jobs on corporate shit websites then idk why you are surprised.

Get a job in the trades. Get a job in a small or family owned wholesale/retail business. Work for yourself, hell you can literally cut grass for a living and make 100k if you are a hard worker and learn to fix your own equipment.

I knew a guy who put an ad on facebook market place that he could fix appliances, dude had no idea wtf he was doing he would get the model and serial number go sit in his truck and watch youtube videos, order the 3-5 parts that it might be, change all 3-5 parts which typically fixed it, the parts would cost him $150 bucks he charged the customer $450. A decent new fridge is 1400 atm. If the part was gonna take a while he would let them use a cheap ass $700 dollar fridge that he kept just for that, people dont mind waiting 2 months for parts if they can use a loaner fridge.

He was handy and mechanically inclined but he never did that for a living before covid at least. He barely goes to work now, he has 2 older guys who work for him now do the same thing and charge a little more. You would be amazed at how cheap people are, new appliance 1200, repair the old one $900 and they STILL chose to repair the old one to save that $300...

people were in total denial of the state of higher education jobs in the mid and late teens. not until the near end of the government lockdowns did i hear anyone talking about problems in the hiring process or getting jobs.... except me. and I identified the probably the very year it started to get bad.

In my day, you'd go down to talk to the business owners, and then one of them would call you back and ask you to come buy his business. For a dollar, so it was an official sale.

Shelves were full of merch, and there was $800 in the cash drawer. Okay, I was up for an adventure.
