Gribenes - an ashkenazi dish consisting of crisp chicken or goose skin cracklings.

Shandeh / Shanda - (pronounced SHAWN-deh) is Yiddish for something scandalously shameful. In Yiddish, the word shand is used as “shame” is used in English.

To be exact, it's chicken/goose skin cracklings with fried onions.

Results on jewgle and kikepedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gribenes) indicate it's an ashkenazi special. It certainly does sound like an Asian dish.
