Haven't drank since Friday. Usually feel fine without it, but cravings are hitting pretty good, with all kinds of stuff on the mind. It's a nice place, really helped my dad and they can fast track some legal stuff, I've put off for too long too... A change of scenery will be nice
I may have said the same thing once. Where I'm staying is not gonna help me get the grounding I need... I've snowballed into this situation. Now I need somewhere to melt... I'll climb out of this mess as I always do
Hey man, have you tried smoking cbd? That stuff is incredible for getting off the sauce. It kills anxiety instantly and sets a mellow tone to your life. It looks exactly like weed, but is actually just hemp. No thc. I quit drinking and did that from time to time and it made life easier. You’ll get past this shit man. You just need to determine in your head that no matter what symptoms or cravings you have, you are going to both accept that they are there, and also be willing to ignore them. They aren’t going to magically not be there by doing x or y or z. You need to just be willing to accept that you are going to have a rough time for a bit; yet you cannot get to where you want to be without going through it. You can do it brother.
I did. My vape pen lasted a week. Helped some. Made a post about it. Used to smoke a lot of weed, overall not crazy about its side effects, but I think I'm wired different or something
"Feminized Doug’s Varin seeds produce plants with high THC levels, but for once, that’s not the most important stat. This marijuana strain also contains unusually high levels of THCV, or tetrahydrocannabivarin.
Scientists link this particular cannabinoid to bubbly responses and, unusually, reduced appetite. This cannabis strain offers significantly higher concentrations of the chemical compound."
I wouldn't recommend a non-drug user to start using weed, but if you could use it to shake the alcohol addiction, that might be one thing to try.
He's right, you know. Just take the money you'd spend on rehab to go somewhere with comparable/better scenery and do something you'd enjoy.
In your scenario, at best you're admitting yourself, but they could always diagnose you with bullshit or hold you longer involuntarily. I would personally never risk my ability to be able to fill out a 4473.
It's because you've never been physically addicted to something not mentally addicted. Many people don't know this but being physically addicted to something and going off cold turkey can kill you. You should ween off heroin for instance. You can quit cocaine cold turkey because it's only mentally addictive.

Especially true with alcohol and benzos. The DTs are no joke. Incidentally, you can interchange those to ween off the other. For alcholic outpatients, they'll typically either tell you to nut up and carefully taper down, or prescribe you Librium (a benzo). Inpatient is typically Librium only, AFAIK.

I was 23 years old when I learned I was an alcoholic. Drank heavy in the military, heavier and daily in construction when I got out. Quit for a full year....shook for the first 4 days and that was my clue.
Now my move is to try and never drink 2 days in a row, which helps keep it under control. I recognize I'm an addict so I control it. Not everyone can do that - it takes a lot of work to manage it, but I do and am fine. I support you going to rehab and wish you well Smedly. Your life will be better with out alcohol! NAC doesn't do shit drinking-wise for me, I was taking it for Covid (along with vitamins E, C, D3 and Zinc. Which must have worked as I never got Covid even when everyone else did.
your liver will thank you anyways, even if nothing more comes off of it. but be hopefull. there may be just one revelation around the corner that makes you embrace sobriety.
for me, it was that one place where i had so much work and such quiet nights, that i was able to sleep without being drunk. that was a paradise i could have spent my life in, if it wasnt for the fact that the whole experience was only available for two weeks in a lifetime. (i stayed and worked at a Hotel in the Alps, will never be able to afford that again..) yes i had to pay although i was working my ass off. weird situation, but cool people i met..
It’s 21 days of real uncomfortable rollercoaster of emotions. 21 days which seems like it will never pass but it does. Rehab is not necessary. You can do it on your own. Medical facilities are dangerous places.
I spent 3 years going to aa daily, few things stick out that always took guys back to the bottle. Sticking your dick in rehab pussy and not going to aa as soon as they get out.
The power of addiction can be overwhelming. You may find youraelf going back to drinking even after treatment. I hate to say it but its true. I myself have done it and know what its like. Celebrating 3 years this week. It is up to you to be strong enough to stop and know that any amount is too much.
I was like that once myself, I would do treatment then go like a week then go right back to drinking. Somethinginside you needs to click. For me i was tired of being sick all the time and my body getting weaker I felt like i was helpless both physicaly and mentaly. I wanted it to go away so bad i stopped drinking. IT helped me overcome my desire to drink. I binged for about 10 years straight i would be wasted more days than not I wish you luck on your endeavor and i understand it is not easy. Non addicts will never understand but know there are others out there like you and they can offer advice and ayou are not alone
Good luck. I have never had a real problem with it. I can go from daily drinking to not touching it for a year or more. I can just stop. I don't know how or why but I do feel bad for others who can't and alcohol destroys them.

Imagine the worse hangover you ever had x100, and it lasts for 5-10 days as your body slowly cleans itself up.

Take some of that drug that makes you vomit and become unpleasantly ill when you consume alcohol.
Buy a taser and fry your balls if you put alcohol in your mouth.
Okay, sounds more complicated than just not having self control. Good luck.
