It's probably not rabies.
Rabies is really rare.
The only way to tell is to go down and get bit.
If you get rabies, there's a good chance the raccoon had rabies.

Thanks for that helpful hint.

Pro Tip: Did you know that NYC has no animal control on weekends? Yes, apparently wild animals are unionized and have weekends off.

Did you know that trees survive war? There are still trees around today that were in the middle of the Civil War.

They survived because trees don't fight in wars.

Trees sound like a bunch of pussies

[ - ] Hobama 0 points 5 monthsNov 6, 2023 10:17:59 ago (+0/-0)

Im pretty sure they took out at least a couple niggers who weren't paying attention.

If it starts to have a seizure, or lifting its head up towards the sky while shaking its head rapidly, it's rabies.

Rabies in USA is extremely uncommon.

Most likely :

70% : Alcohol inebriation from eating fermented apples (hundreds of youtube videos of birds and others). Lifeforms seek and eat alcohol fruit on ground, because of digestion KREBS CYCLE (named after a 'cancelled White man') Krebs cycle trivially converts fermented food to energy : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_metabolism

10% : Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV. Common in all mammals, even humans ( https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-q-and-a-bppv-dizziness-caused-by-inner-ear-crystals/ ) It goes away over a couple days , unless you rotate it back.

5% : Mental disorder affecting inner ear area or other Peripheral Vertigo ( vestibular nerve )

5% : Delirium from fever

5% : Physical inner skull trauma ( pellet gun , brain swelling from skull fracture, Baylisascaris procyonis parasite migration to brain, etc). A staggering 80% of northeastern USA racoons are infested with Baylisascaris procyonis worms, and almost 1 in 120 of those 80% have the worms migrate outside the intestines of raccoons.

5% : OTHER MISC, including Canine morbillivirus

It is NOT Feline distemper, but raccoons often get Canine morbillivirus. Feline distemper does not induce this symptom in raccoons, but Canine can cause circular walking.

Only 1 in a million chance it is rabies.

I watched OP video 10 times before chiming in.

We have no apple trees or crabapple trees here in my neighborhood, so that knocks out 70% of your possibilities.

It is daytime and most raccoons in Queens are nocturnal.

One of the doormen told me he had seen a raccoon in the morning stumbling around looking dazed. That circling like that is very much like videos of other rabid animals I’ve seen.

If it is not rabies, then it is your worms.

Animals in NYC found to be positive for rabies:

Male raccoons have a 4 mile radius multi-day trek region, in suburbs. Ornamental crab apples wont ferment for 4 more weeks if this is NYC, so 70% chance is eliminated if video is genuine and new, but BPPV is most likely still, depending on head position of raccoon when it slept last.

How the world can you not film a simple animal in frame?

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens [op] 6 points 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 17:22:16 ago (+6/-0)

Fuck you, Steven Speilberg. I was in a rush.

[ - ] Love240 6 points 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 17:28:09 ago (+6/-0)

A rush to film a raccoon? Was your hooker charging by the minute or what?

Could also be distemper.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 2 points 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 15:50:31 ago (+2/-0)

And here we all thought it was the Puerto Rican wop-a-dagos that were rabid in Queens.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 1 point 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 19:41:44 ago (+1/-0)

Sad to see.

A bad way to go.

[ - ] Cantaloupe 0 points 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 23:08:22 ago (+0/-0)

Probably sick from eating garbage, got hit by a car, or was in a fight.

That doesn't seem to be rabies.

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens [op] 0 points 5 monthsNov 6, 2023 00:17:05 ago (+0/-0)

Set a beaver trap and kill it. You might get the neighbors cat on accident but whatever its worth the shot

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens [op] 0 points 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 22:26:05 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah, because beaver traps are so ubiquitous in Queens.

Hey! I have an idea! Maybe I can harpoon the coon and if that doesn’t work, I can borrow my next door neighbor’s cannon or just set up the co-op board’s trebuchet that we store in the garage.

[ - ] SumerBreeze 3 points 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 22:35:42 ago (+3/-0)

Or you could just smash its head in with a brick.

[ - ] jigganiggaboo 1 point 5 monthsNov 5, 2023 23:58:06 ago (+1/-0)

I don't see why not. Start a new trend

Imagine living in a country that has rabies - the absolute savagery of some places
