I am a Christian but I am really disappointed in how illiterate a lot of people who profess that title are. I wouldn't put it past a jew to read the New Testament. It's almost more likely than most of the people in denominations that teach that crap. Because if even a third of the people in those denominations actually read the bible they would all say, now pastor, I'm not quite reading that. Those denominations which compose a shocking percentage of Christianity have to be composed of uniformly illiterate people. These people's only experience with the bible is having a few verses read at them.

Now a jew actually has a chance of having read the New Testament, but he isn't going to quote it because it wouldn't be to his benefit.

Yep, Galatian's 3 actually points out that Gods promise was removed from the seed of Abraham/ Nation of Israel (for their repeated failure to follow the Mosaic law) and that under the new covenant the Gentile Nation were granted the promised through faith and belief in the Christ.

Zero biblical mandate to support Israel. Zero biblical mandate that the holy lands are for the Nation of Israel - God kicked them.

The "Scofield Bible" of 1909 is the source of the misplaced allegiance to Israel. This "Bible" says that those who hate Israel hate God. This is in some chapter in the Old Testament. This altering of the Bible is an abomination and Mr. Scofield is probably roasting on high in Hell right now. Again, I'm just quoting the Bible. I gave the reference. When Paul said in Galatians 3:16 "The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,”[a] meaning one person, who is Christ." I figure the language is clear enough for the purpose of the promises to be understood.

I had this sort of argument with a christcuck one day and it really bothered me. I've forgotten the exact verse he quoted but it was more or less "Jesus was a jew".

It infuriated me to no end. There were no christians at that time which is why he was a "jew" and he just couldn't grasp the idea that the bible doesn't command us to defend jews but people in general.

He is descended from King David through Mary. Remember for the years of Exile there were many Hebrews in Babylon, Assyria, etc. that were not from Judea (but were still considered Jews).

Jesus sort of both is and isn't Jewish. He is descended from Jews, He was well-versed in the Levitical Law of the time, but He is also God made flesh to bring the New Covenant of what we call Christianity because He is the Christ ("the anointed one" i.e. anointed by God).

Jesus also came to Earth to save the world - to remove the distinction between Jew and Gentile. There were many Jewish Christians in the early church (as might be imagined - some Jews accepted Jesus, some didn't), but they faded into obscurity as the Christian church fully took hold.

I'd guess both. Just speculation, but once the distinction between Jew and Gentile was removed, I'm sure there were many Jews who accepted Jesus as the Christ, but they were reluctant to immediately "flip the switch" to turn off Judaism entirely. As generations went on and those churches realized the distinction was moot (as well as the inconvenient practices like not eating pork/fish/etc., making sacrifices, etc.) they either died off or interbred.

I really just used "faded" as a catch-all for "whatever happened to them, they aren't around today."

There's plenty in the bible that says you shouldn't just defend people in general. The jewish god ordered his people to commit genocide on many occasions. Most of the verses that are quoted to claim that the jewish god was anti-genocide are not actually anti-genocide, just against committing it without checking with god first. The bible is pretty clear about the fact that the jew god considers Abraham's descendants to be a superior master race that deserves to rule the world and oppress other nations.
