Makes me feel great that Halloween is a dying holiday. It's just pagan ritualistic child poisoning and it's my least favorite holiday. I actually hate it.

I don't have no religious or personal connections to it. I just see it as a time to have some fun with my kids/grandkids. I actually like Halloween.

All holidays are dying holidays. We have no community so all that's left is corporate celebration, but the problem with that is most holidays are either religious or national so they're instead turned into a generic seasonal celebration. Instead of Christmas and Easter we have winter and spring celebration, Halloween was one of the few that were generic and profitable enough to survive the corporatization.

We prevailed we trekked through the snowy streets vision obstructed by (styrofoam?) pellets and came back with the butterfingers and almond joys we set out to find.

I was kinda bummed in my neighborhood. My area doesn't really seem to do much, so I guess when we moved in, in 2019, it was more or less a somewhat stingy neighborhood. I tried one year doing candy for kids and Jell-o shots for adults. That was a bit of a hit, but there weren't too many different people who came. I just kept getting visited by the same few methhead and alcoholic families.

We even live on friggin Elm street. You'd think people would try a little harder. I wanted to throw together maybe even a half assed haunted, well, front yard for people to walk through.

People just don't really seem to go out anymore. For anything.
